Power of nature

The weird thing is that people start wishing each other "Hyvää kesä!" (Pleasant summer!) at the end of April when sometimes there is still some remainings of snow, the trees hardly shows any signs of spring and grass hasn't even started getting back some green colors. Temperature often drops below zero and snowstorms are not rare. Maybe the only sign of the waking nature besides the melting snow, the groups of returning birds which makes the bare land noisy and somewhat lively. They call this time of the year late spring. Yeah, late spring.

Summer came this year quite late in the middle of May, obviosuly it had to hurry because of the delay and took over spring bluntly in mere three days.
So it happened that this year all of a sudden sun was shining almost 7/24, temperature rose above 20 and stayed so almost for two weeks around 25. During that time in whole Europe it was raining. Only two countries could compete with Finnish conditions: Greece and Turkey.
Sprouts appeared, and grew so quickly and forcible that you could really see them growing. Landscape was different in the morning and in the evening. Colors turned from gray to green. On the third day there were 10 high plants on the ground where you could see anything before and all the leaves were out, some trees were blossoming already. It truly was amazing, such a vigorous living force all around you. All of a sudden nature had awaken from a long winter dream. And there was a haste to blossom, grow crops, fruits, because days will get shorten once again and autumn is getting closer day by day.
